Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about visiting, participating, and connecting with our community

Do I need to cover my head when visiting?

While it's respectful to cover your head in the prayer hall, head coverings are available at the entrance if you don't have one. We welcome everyone regardless of dress.

Are non-Sikhs welcome to participate in services?

Absolutely! Our doors are open to people of all faiths and backgrounds. Everyone is welcome to join prayers, enjoy langar, and participate in community activities.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Visitors should remove shoes before entering, cover their heads in the prayer hall, and sit on the floor during services. Don't worry - community members are always happy to guide newcomers.

How can I volunteer or get involved?

We welcome volunteers in many areas: kitchen service, cleaning, event organization, teaching, and more. Contact us through this form or speak with any community member during your visit.

Is the langar really free for everyone?

Yes! Langar is completely free for all visitors, regardless of background. This is a core principle of Sikhism - sharing food with everyone as equals. No payment or donation is expected.

Can I schedule a private ceremony or event?

Yes, we accommodate weddings, naming ceremonies, and other religious observances. Contact us in advance to discuss dates, requirements, and coordination with our community calendar.
